Poll: What kind of engineering role do you have in the Building Automation/HVAC industry?

element14 is planning a Building/Automation/HVAC webinar. I wanted to get a sense of what areas of engineering do our members have in the BA/HVAC industry?

Other.  Thanks for asking.  My role is helping IT folks (Controls Engineers?) integrate generators and transfer switches into their Building Management System.  Often, they are using BACnet because HVAC and lighting are their primary concern and this seems to be the protocol of choice.  Our stuff speaks MODBUS RTU or TCP, but we do (now) have one control that has native BACnet.  Contrary to what some would say, MODBUS is not dead.  It's seen a resurgence as it's bandwidth requirement is very reasonable compared to other protocols.

I'm excited about the webinar.  Please don't hold it on a Tuesday as that's the one meeting day I can't reschedule. image
