Have you used audio sensors for more than voice? Perhaps to profile mechanical devices, maybe heart rate/beat, or perhaps as part of security or ultrasonic?
depends how hard something falls and how loud the noise is.
I suppose someone could do a fast Fourier transform to analyze the noise source for harmonic patterns, I'm too lazy for that sophistication :-)
I wonder, is there some differentiation between a clap and something falling over?
I love electret microphones for audio. They are inexpensive and easy to use.
I'm mostly using them to detect audio sound levels, like a clapper switch ( clap once to turn on a light, clap again to turn off),
and in an array to determine direction sound is coming from -- for example, turning an animatronic head to face someone talking.
I use audio sensor to detect thunder after lightning strikes.
