Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect is now available

I noticed that the Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect  is now available in the Arduino store.  I've been waiting for this board as it adds WiFi and BLE capability to the RP2040  and also adds a microphone, IMU, and 16MB of flash memory.  I can't wait to try it out.  I've seen some complaining about the high cost - $25.50 and the lack of a USB-C connector, but I remember when the Uno was about $20 and we've come a long way since then.  It is already supported in the Arduino IDE as an Mbed board, so it should be easy to get started.

I was going to say this feels fairly similar to the ESP32, give or take a few features such as a couple of sensors added. But, it actually has an ESP32 : ) The on-board Nina W102 module according to the…

This looks good, but as you say, a bit expensive. I might wait until it becomes a bit cheaper, actually, quite a lot cheaper. Does look fun though. I'll probably be able to do every mobile robot project…

I had the same thought, where is the camera ? :-) Add a couple servos , attach wings, it becomes a spy cicada robot.

Just spotted this on the Arduino github page for the Arduino mbed core: "With the latest version (ArduinoCore-mbed 2.1.0) it is possible to use the pico SDK multicore functions..."

So you could say that this little board is a quasi-quad-core. image

The question I'm wondering about is whether you could get both the RP2040 and the ESP32 to share flash (in general, rather than with this particular board config) with a bit a clever memory allocation. Could save a few pence.

Does look fun though. I'll probably be able to do every mobile robot project I'll ever want to do with one of these. Although, it doesn't have any video - yet!
