Make my own female to female cables for Arduino

Hi all,

I am going to need 18" cables with female header connectors on both ends. I plan to purchase some ribbon cable, crimp on female header connectors and plastic connector hoods. I would like to ask all of you for help in identifying the correct components that I need to order. The last time I did so I ended up with crimp pins that were too big for the headers.

Are the following items the correct size?

The parts look good but it is alot of hasstle onsidering you can get this
for 5$ including shipping from EBay

Thanks! Yeah, I saw some extra log f-f cable, but he longest I saw was 30cm and I need at least 45cm (max 50cm).Not having found any ready made cables of that length prompted me to include the option of making my own. Regards, Salvador

I have seen M-F so with some glue to join them together, you could easily achieve the 500mm

(BTW cm is a dress makers unit ... lets stick to Engineering standards and use mm or m as per the standards.)

No way I would have ever known the use of "cm". I just parroted the text used in the descriptions on eBay. Thanks.
