Interesting Arduino projects?

One of my co-workers who is a Flash developer is learning C++ and happened to stop by my cube with a few questions. The conversation eventually led to the topic of embedded systems and how powerful and easy-to-use the Arduino platform is. I've been trying to come up with some amazing examples of Arduino applications to give him an idea of the possibilities.

An Arduino project that sticks out in my mind from Maker Faire Detriot 2010 is i3 Detroit member Eric Merrill's DIY RC QuadCopter:

That's a good point about the Flash integration and the Processing environment as it seems like a natural fit for him. I am trying to get him over to our Chicago hackerspace, Pumping Station: One. It's only a matter of time!
