Playing Guitar Hero is great and all for parties and wasting time but it’s even better with the inclusion of fire and Chris Marion did just that. He started his project with a series of propane tanks connected to a manifold that use electronically actuated valves to control the flame spouts. For the ‘guitar’ controller interface he used an Arduino along with the PS2 library he got from Bill Porter to read signals from the buttons. You can see Chris’s step by step process in creating ‘FireHero’ and a video demonstration here: http://www.chrismarion.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=121:firehero&catid=43:pyrotechnics&Itemid=226
