    @Brendan Your video is somewhat adequate for the intended purpose, however, from an engineer's point of view it is lacking in providing pertinent facts. Such as the part number, data sheet, and source…

    Jeremy, thanks for your intro videos. I am just getting started myself in Arduino though I have done some simple electronics projects using Atmel chips. Here is an example using ATTiny13 chips. www.youtube…

    Hi Jeremy I've built a device (see picture) with an Arduino and Ethernet shield that connects to our Network Monitor (Nagios) and moves an arrow to indicate if any of the computers we monitor are not responding…

    Hi jeremy

    Really appreciate your works, really helpful. I am new to arduino and my question is about mapping, I am trying to design a tool that can measure distance for 360 degree from center to all around it. Some thing like which you can put in the center of a room and when you tern it on it will rotate 360 degree and measure and record distend from center to wall for 0 to 360 degree only in one plane just 2D. Will this be possible with arduino by using stepper motor and laser distance measuring tool and to get results on MS excel  or auto-cad.

    Thanks.

    Welcome, Great Eagle.

    IMHO there is nothing stopping anyone from mounting 2 Ping sensors on top of a 180 degree servo motor, facing opposite directions of course.

    Over at Let's Make Robots there is a great discussion going on.  You can find it here: http://letsmakerobots.com/node/11259

    Apparently it is easy to use Parallax's PLX-DAQ with the Arduino.  To find out more check out this Arduino Forum discussion: http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,5212.0.html  There is mention of a Freeware App called GoBetwino.  It may solve your problem also.

    Please do return here for additional help and also to report on your successful completion of the project.

    Happy Trails to you.

    if (Serial.available() > 0) {

         for (int i=0;i<40;i++) {

        int char_buff[i] = Serial.read();

    //    Serial.write(char[i]); // received char to Serial monitor for debug if needed

        }

    }

    Bill,

    for (int i=0;,i<40;i++) {

                       ^

       It looks like you have a stray comma in your for loop.
