Image Processing with arduino by interfacing processing

Former Member
Former Member over 14 years ago

hey guys,

i am cuuurently working on processing which is open source software and its main perpose it to make GUI.

it can directly work with arduino.

there are many application like oscilloscope and many more which can be done using processing.

Image processing can be done very easy with processing.

but main thig is to store the captured frame and them use that frame for processing

for that you need to specify loction of source and destination

can anyone help me how to give these addresses...?

I'm confused about whether you are having trouble getting image data in to Processing, or whether you are having trouble accessing said data once it is into Processing. The former is very application specific, so I'm afraid I can't help without more information. The latter is fairly straightforward. Frame data in Processing is accesed through either the get() command or through the pixels[] array. Check out http://processing.org/reference/ for information on these and other components of the API.

i have trouble with processing once the frame is captured.

actually i have to use the external camera in stead of my web cam.

so i want to get the location of external camera that i connect ,and

the location from where i can get the captured frame location.

It depends on what the external source is. If it is configured to stream data, you can simply open a video stream http://processing.org/reference/libraries/video/index.html. It sounds like you might be using a point and shoot camera. If that is the case, you probably will not be able to grab the data in real time. If you describe exactly how you are capturing frames, I might be able to help more. Good luck!

i am provided the overhead camera and they will provide me a cable to

    stream that video.

now my job is to process that stream and then transmit  command to my robot.

The question is how to access the stream with processing and how can i

give the port address to processing...?

got my question...if not then i will send the total description of my task.

    curious.
