Hello,

In a project of mine, i need a high torque high speed motor but do not know which one.

Basically i want a high torque, high speed servo. Also i am new to stepper motors. can a stepper motor give high speed with high torque(3 rev/sec torque about 1Kg-cm).?

Can i use brushless or brushed motors and make them work like servo with high speed and high torque???

  • You can easily calculate the output power you need:

     

    P = force * rps * 2pi * r = 10 * 3 * 6.28 * 0.01 = 1.9W - so a little motor will do.

     

    It's more common to express motor torque in Nm so you are looking for a motor which can do 0.1Nm, 600 stpes per second (assuming a standard 200 step per rev motor).

     

    Farnell 25075642507564 is the cheapest I found that offers more than 0.2Nm - so check the data sheet.

     

    The spec you have suggested (speed and torque ) is not enough to design  a system - you need to worry about the load inertia and required acceleration - there are a lot more things to learn about.

     

    It might be  a good idea if you explained the project in a bit more detail.
