Automatic Tatoo Machine

nathanjseeley

So, my purpose for making this Discution stems from me recently having my 1st experience with a CNC router and also my neighbor has an automatic embroidery machine. I assume you might be catching on to my idea... Make a machine that will automatically "print" tatoos onto people. As I was watching the above stated machines do their thing the wheels started turning. my only problem is that I don't know where to start and would like some brainstorming ideas.

The big picture I have is like a massage table with a robotic arm that has a tatoo gun attached. you input the image you would like printed and it does it with perfect Accuacy...

Let the brainstorming/collaborating BEGIN!

P.S. I appologize for any misspelling or typos (If you point them out I will fix them)

Your in for a challenge here.

    1. Different parts of the body are shaped differently, so you will need some way to keep the needle at a consistent depth or you will be tattooing bone! Probably an Ir beam to maintain distance from the surface, but don't forget to take into account that different skin tones will reflect slightly differently.

    2. You will need body clamps to keep the person from moving even the slightest mm. All CNCs run based on a reference point called "Home". If that reference point moves, the needle will no longer line up with anything. X 53.3452 and Y-119.234 will no longer be in the same spot. Might make for some interesting designs however. Maybe make temporary tatto outlines for the robot to follow ??

    3. Make it a DIY kit, or get a very good liability lawyer image

    good luck
