Help needed with LCDs !

Hi all !

 

 

I'm about to buy an LCD but i'm really not sure which one works with arduino (i.e has library etc?). I have a constraint here though , I can only fit a 6 cm x 2.5 cm GRAPHIC LCD. I'm not sure what to use. Could anyone guide me ? Basically , i need a graphic LCD (to display text files and a few graphics from the sd card) , which is 6 cm  x 2.5 cm in dimensions and is compatible with arduino.

But will it work with arduino ?

 

 

I'm totally new to arduino , so help is really appreciated.

    Hi, there are many graphic displays that could be used here. Looking at the one from digikey that you previously selected, I can see that you are looking at a monochrome type, not a full colour TFT.

    For the sizes that you require, we can offer types near this size such as 1847888, 2063187, 2063193. These LCD modules will need at least 13 port lines from the Arduino board to control them. There are many Arduino boards with different processors on board with different peripherals and numbers of port lnes available etc. I would recommend one of the larger boards from the Arduino series so that you have enough port lines to communicate with the LCD. The smaller Arduino's such as the UNO do not have enough port lines on board.
