Arduino Ethernet Garage Door Opener

Hi Guys, just wanted to share a project I have been playing around with. It's a garage door opener that allows you to open the door using your smartphone. It uses a simple password that can be loaded and updated from a PC. You can also log to a PC whats going on so you can be confident no one is opening it while you are not home, or that some sneaky bug has not made it in to the code. It uses and EtherTen board from Freetronics and is housed in a custom 3D printed hosuing.

    It would be nice if you can also read the status of the door (open or closed) Especially if the same command (relay closure) is used to open and close the door. If for some reason the "close" command did not work, you can give a second command. You can send different commands for "open"and "close". Then the "open" command should only cause a relay closure when the door is closed and and the "close". command should only cause a relay closure when the door is open. You can attach a microswitch to the door to indicat the open or closed state. When you start the application it will tell you if the door is open or closed. This way you can check the status of the door whereever you are.

    Yeah that would be a nice feature. Would make the system feel more secure.
