Microsoft seem to be giving away Intel Galileo boards

Windows on Devices

While they don't explicitly state the "dev kit" they will be issuing they picture the Intel Galileo board and say "Development hardware like the Intel Galileo board..." might suggest you will get the Galileo which is software and pin compatible with the Arduino Uno R3 but will run a headless version of windows (Atleast it can't BSOD if there is no monitor).

Just thought you might want to know and maybe check it out.

Yeah, Microsoft has been disappointingly nonresponsive. I signed up for this months ago, never heard anything back, and never received a kit. I was really looking forward to trying it out. It's a great…

I received an email from Windows Developer Program for IoT which includes the following:

"...we have finished allocating all the Intel Galileo boards that we purchased. If you were allocated a kit then you should have received either a tracking number or an email saying a kit was allocated to you."

Since I have received neither, I assume I have been unlucky.

Yeah, Microsoft has been disappointingly nonresponsive.  I signed up for this months ago, never heard anything back, and never received a kit.  I was really looking forward to trying it out.  It's a great idea for them to offer kits but negative marketing to have us go through all the hoops and then completely ignore us.  Meh.

    Oh well.

It worth trying… I also applied three month ago, and I've been delivered two weeks ago.

Intel really put an effort in that kit, since it came with an ethernet cable, microSD, Sd adapter, an usb to ethernet, an ethernet cable and the power supply, as well as the board.

If you get a negative feedback it's not over. I recieved a negative answer but two weeks later they confirmed that I was selected to recieve a kit for FREE.

So it is not impossible to get one.

    Good luck !!

Some feedback at all would be nice. I got a "stay tuned" mail quickly after applying and nothing since then... image
