Arduino: use of tinkerkit dmx receiver - relay

Hello everyone,

I need to use more relays on Arduino, so I bought the tinkerkit dmx receiver - relay, because it has 4 relays available.

The problem is that there are no instruction how to use it. Every manual present on the internet has no specifications about how to give commands to relays.

 

I'm able to command single relays module but, with this one, I can't understand the meaning of the PINS D+ and D- and also the little ten switches which are on the rectangular chip.

 

I just want to use the

4 relays. I don't need other kind of use of this board.

Can anyone help me?

  • This board is as you say a DMX board, it utilizes a 2 wire differential serial communications to send instructions to it (There is a micro on the board)

     

    you will need to purchase or make a DMX master shield to talk to your DMX relay board, a library is available from tinkerkit and the linked arduino.cc page below

    this is the DMX master from tinker kit:

    the 10 switches will be to set the address of the board, DMX can have a huge number of boards in series (128 of this particular board (512 relays) )

     

    D+ and D- will be the differential drive communications to go from controller to each board in series

     

    NOTE: this board will handle MAINS for the relays (So it claims and there does seem to be suitable clearance on the PCB tracks), EXTREME care should be taken and seek professional advise if you don't have experience with mains, given half a chance it will try to kill you.
