Arduino and big LCD display interfacing

i want to display pictures from my SD card reader to the LCD display which is connected to an arduino. so far i havent seen any display options other than small tft lcds shields.

i'm a big noob with arduino and its interfacing.

where should i begin and if this is even possible or not ?

    How big is Big ??

Secondly, typical Arduinos have very little RAM available so even with an SD card or something to store the image, you will rapidly run out of space to process the image.

Using a Raspberry PI or other similar device with HDMI or DSI type outputs provides a far simpler and probably cheaper solution

thanks, this answers if its even possible or not with an arduino. i found some vga solutions but then again the clock of vga was much greater and the process wouldve been slower.

i was suppose to an internet digital frame and i was hoping to make it cheap with an arduino but i guess it wouldnt be possible.

ill prob go with a raspberry pi now. its easier and you can see whats happening which is a big plus.

    thanks Peter
