Detect stalker/trespasser in Orange orchard behind house

So I've got a problem! Directly behind my house is a giant orchard, every night for the last few weeks this crazy ass stalker dude has been using it as his transportation method to get to my house. He travels through the huge orange gruves, comes to my house, knocks some *** over or makes done noise to let us know he's there, we see him on cshera, run out there and he's already back bin the bloody orchard! Cops are involved. Restraining order issued, but it's a LOOONNNGG. Response time out here. Ive chased this guy I don't know how many times into this damn orchard in the middle of the night and it's been pitch dark. Now I just go out there, walk back and forth and here his crunch crunch crunch of his steps and call him a few choice words and taunt him. The scary times though are not knowing when it's there. So I'm stuck with a very unique challenge: I need a sensor that's super cheap, can detect his presence over a large area and through the thick trees, helps me pinpoint where he is and alerts me to where he us(so I can shoot off about 90 rounds! Jkjk..... Sorta cough cough) and is shall and easily hidden in the trees somehow. It's gotta be cheap in case he finds it and cuz I'm a disabled Gimp of a vet, and easy to make because Bim totally new to Arduino but it's something I've wanted to get into fur awhile now. I've got an RE board and a few handfuls of the mini boards. I can get cheap boards and sensors using the wish or geek apps but I don't know how good they are. So if you guys can put together your collective big, fat, juicy brains (mmmm braaaaiiinnnsss!) It would really super be appreciated!
