Garden watering project

Question

Hello all,

this is my first time on here and I'm already enjoying reading all the project ideas. I have been playing around with arduino in my VERY limited spare time over the last year and I want to try to build an automatic watering ...thing for my vegetable garden. I have an UNO R3 and some nanos. I have an adafruit valve for controlling water flow. I have a 4 module relay. Just wondering mostly about how to write a sketch that would keep track of the time of day. Is there a clock function for the Arduino?

Any help is so appreciated.

Welcome to e14. Chapter 13 of Jeremy Blum's book "Exploring Arduino" tells how to install a Real Time Clock on the Arduino Uno. Here is a link to the books web site:
