So im completely new and am looking to start in on building a a cnc machine. Ive been looking and I have noticed that the RAMPS can be purchased assembled or in pieces. Now I have no issue with assembly and soldering. The question I have is about the chips. On a shield such as the Pololu and its stepper drivers, is there programming required for the hardware itself? I mean to program the logic in to one of the chips.
Or can you just assemble, plug it into the Auduino and go?
