Arduino LilyPad Wireless Communication with Phone Apps

Hello guys,

I would like to have some guidance concerning how to connect an Arduino LiLyPad with a Phone app wireless.

I have searched and found this LilyPad Xbee: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8937
Is it better to connect it to the phone app via Bluetooth?

Are there any specific algorithms or functions to connect phone apps with LilyPad?

In order to connect to a phone the best option is to use bluetooth
specifically BT 4.0 LE
