Hello all,
I'm having a problem programming my Xbee S2 in transparent mode. Here's what I have:
2 - Xbee S2 units
2 - Arduino Unos
1 - Parallax Xbee USB Adapter board
Appropriate USB cables
2 - breadboards
I'm using a Mac Mini with Snow Leopard v10.8.2
I have Cool Term v1.4.2 on the Mac and Arduino v1.0.3
Since X-CTU is required to update firmware on the Xbees, I also borrowed a Windows 7 system and loaded up X-CTU.
I'm also using Building Wireless Sensor Networks by Robert Faludi, O'Reilly, 2010, as a guide
On the Windows machine I am able to update the firmware on both Xbees, making one a Coordinator and one a Router. I can use X-CTU as a terminal and querry the Xbee using AT commands. All this at the Windows machine.
When I take the Xbee to the Mac is when I have problems. I plug the Xbee - on the USB adapter board - into the Mac, but the Mac doesn't recognize it at all. Using Cool Term, I can't see any USB ports when the Xbee is plugged in. I can take out the Xbee and plug in my Arduino and the Arduino finds the USB ports just fine.
I did get the Xbee working briefly yesterday on the Mac, but don't remember what I did to accomplish that. I don't think I was doing anything different than I am now.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the Mac to recognize the Xbee/Adapter Board?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Kevin H.
