Arduino Uno R3 + HC-SR04 sensor + Seeeduino GPRS shield

I'm new to arduino and I've been going through the basic examples for a while. I decided to try a real world project creating an ultrasonic range finder that sends its data over a GSM network or through GPRS to the internet. Can anyone give me a sample sketch to get me started, or is there any project like this available I can look at? I'd be most grateful.

    Hi,

    Sounds like an interesting project!

A quick search for 'HC-SR04' produces quite a lot of information. There is a data sheet, tutorial video and a library at https://code.google.com/p/arduino-new-ping/

This link contains some good information about the GPRS Shield: http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/GPRS_Shield_V2.0 There is also a page for the V1 board if you have it.

Keep searching for more info, I'm sure there's plenty out there.

Also I'd start off simple, try to get the sensor working first in isolation and get some measurements sent back to your PC. When you're happy with that, start on the GPRS side of things. Before long you should have made some real progress.

    Good luck,

    Alan
