I'm completely new to Arduino and like to get some help oen selecting the Arduino model to use, here is a brief description of the project :
Using a barcode scanner, scan the barcode on a product to obtain the information, use that to connect to a Web page to retrieve specific information of the product and display it on an LCD.
The scanner uses USB HID interface, or even RS232 communication; optionally a USB keyboard can be used to enter information. The display can be a small 2x16 characters display. Depending on the information retrieve from the Web page, a couple of LED will serve as a quick visual indication (red /green colors)
So, can anyone please give a recommendation on what hardware to buy? , I'd like something more than the minimum configuration since the project may expand or the hardware may be used on other projects as well.
