I need to set up a wi-fi communication between Arduino UNO and windows PC. But I do not know the basic requirements for setting up this communication. Please give me some idea, links or any other resource which can help me to complete this task.

Or you can do serial over BlueTooth using little BT modules, like this: Cheap 2-Way Bluetooth Connection Between Arduino and PC
