most practical arduino/shields storage box ?

fvan
fvan over 11 years ago

Hi,

I'm looking for the most practical/safe way to take different Arduinos and shields on the move.

A box with small compartments to store every shield/board individually ?

Can anyone recommend any ?

Thanks,

Frederick

Something like a Pelican case comes to mind, but expensive.

http://www.pelicancases.com/1170-p/1170.htm but that's a small one, this one is way expensive, but nice, http://www.pelicancases.com/0450-p/0450.htm but something like this might be a bit more practical. http://www.menards.com/main/tools-hardware/tool-storage/tool-chests-boxes/aluminum-tool-box-18x13x6/p-1497968-c-9188.htm The pic don't show it but inside there are several foam padded movable partitions.

I use a small straight sided clip on lid type food container.

The Arduino and shields sit on their sides, most are plugged into each other (if there's room), or back to back, and since its jammed full there is little movement, but you can add some of the pink or blue antistatic bubble wrap if you only have a few.

    Works for me.

In Auatralia I bought this case for $14.95 from Jaycar Electronics and it is working great.

I use the really Useful boxes .. In fact I think that CPC actually stock them  so I'm still on "Brand" image

Very good strong boxes keeps your stuff in order. Ive also used the Food box and boxes like Stuarts depending on the objects stored

    Thanks for all the feedback.

The carrying case from Stuart seems to be very practical, and the bigger compartments appear to be just the right size for an Arduino (and/or shield).

I'll also have a look at those "really useful boxes", the seem to come in all kinds of sizes.

    Thanks everyone!
