Multiple wireless sensor arduino

Hi, every one I am looking multiple wireless sensor for arduino uno. Multiple PIR motion sensor at different location to on/ off some application what kind of wireless system will work. Initially digital communication later with analog input. I tried with bluetooth but one module can be connected.

    Hi Durai, In a similar system I found nrf24l01+ modules to be a good fit. Cheaper than xbee and easy to program for a small star network. Regards, Colin

    Hi durai,

     

    You can easily make a wireless network of sensors with Zigbee. XBEE modules allows you to use this technology and they are not very complicated to set up.

    I used XBEE before, they are quite popular and very easy to handle with, and there is a lor of info on the web.

    This one you propose looks also great!! For sure I will take into account in future wirelles project image

    It is very straight forward to use the NRF24L01 to do the task your asking

     

    My house is currently wired with about 10 of these measuring temp and humidity and with the additional capability of turning on and off lights or thermostats etc

     

    nice thing is they are very cheap compared to XBEE or other Bluetooth devices

     

    each node will still need a micro-controller too though but there also cheap

    they can be configured into a mesh network also

     

    A friend of mine in the UK has been working tirelessly to create a very reliable and remote enabled system, I am using and have helped with this system

    Hi Peter

     

    you are right we need a micro controller at the node end(temp sensing) or on/off end,  that should be cheaper than master node or control unit setup. Do we have Arduino mini or any some kind simple micro controller which will do this job. Any lower version of such kind is available.

    without custom boards then the MSP430 Launch Pads from TI are only about 12$ each, can be programmed in almost the exact same way as an Arduino Uno or similar (Has the same IDE)

     

    Add simple radio and temp sensors and your off, they can be powered by a low cost USB power adapter (Same as you use to re-charge a smart phone or tablet)

     

    board example from Canada site, just put in the part number of simply MSP430 launch pad at your local Newark / Element14 site

    I too thinking of Arduino Nano at the salve end and Arduino Uno at the master end Should be a cheap and best network. Any comment pls.

    A nano would be a good choice, it is still the same CPU as in the UNO so programming is the same for pins etc,

     

    You may find eventually the master will need more memory than an ATMEGA328 has, we certainly did and if that is the case an easy upgrade is to go to an Arduino MEGA 2560 Arduino - ArduinoBoardMega2560  which is compatible with the code for the UNO but with way more memory, ram and IO

     

    we had various models where the master included control functionality (Direct IO) or only acted as a master unit. It also included Ethernet support (Which is why we ran  out of memory) that allowed products like "NETIO" to be used from an Android Tablet or smart phone (Also available on IOS) to control and monitor the system. LINK:  NetIO Controller  this is a great product for this and we have been using it for a couple of years now
