Hello good people of element 14.
I have a question I hope some of you more educated people out there can answer better than me.
I have a summer place 3 hours from home, and during the winter I have heating cables in my water pipes to prevent the pipes from cracking due to ice. Currently I have a simple switch inside the hut to turn it on and off. What I am wondering about is if I could use my phone to send a SMS from home to an Arduphone with a SIM card in it at the summer place which is again connected to an Arduino uno for example that recognizes the text in the sms for example "turn heating cables on", and will then give power to a relay that controls the heating cables. just to be safe it would be nice it would be nice if the Arduphone could send a confirmation SMS back when it has turned on the heating cables.
Then later if I want to I could program the system to recognize more text, and expand from there.
But this depends on if the Arduphone can communicate with another Arduino, and how.
Thanks in advance for your help!
