A Question of Purpose

Hello. My name is Jae Kim and I am beginning to pursue electrical engineering on my own. My ultimate desire for pursuing this discipline is to help and serve people in the future in a significant sense. So, assuming that you have much much more knowledge and understanding of the capacity of what electronics can do than me, is this a good means by which to do this, namely, help and serve others? Because if it is not, I, personally, do not think it is a sensible thing for me to invest my time, energy, and resources to this discipline. Consequently, if at all possible, would you share some examples that you witnessed people with Electrical Engineering background helping and serving others?

Furthermore, I know nothing about electrical engineering. Well, I just began to learn what a current, resistors, Ohm's Law, and voltage is/are. This is the extent of my knowledge. To grow in my skills and knowledge in electronics, some professionals on my other discussion had suggested that a 200 in 1 Electronic Projects Lab Kit is a good investment for me and a good basis on which I can build my knowledge of EE. What are your thoughts?

God bless, Jae Kim

    Hi Jae

there are a lot of the same people predominantly that also help here, like me,  so it gets confusing when things get posted twice. Its good you don't take things on face value but be aware of the fact that people may get frustrated answering the same question twice or they may not answer the second one

here is a link for people wanting to provide further help for Jae (As a backgrounder) http://www.element14.com/community/thread/36852/l/electronics-and-creation

    regards

    Peter
