Button wiring issue Teensy2.0

Question

I am getting back into doing some hardware stuff after a fairly long time away and am having a hard time getting back into it. I have a Teensy 2.0 and am trying to run a basic sketch that when a button is pressed will output 0, but my button is always High. I think that I miswired something but my breadboard looks like all the tutorials so I'm just confused as to what is going on and would appreciate any help.

looking at the picture I have to ask

Is the header strip just pushed through the teensy and into the breadboard or is it soldered to the teensy,

either way it is pushed through from the wrong side and the breadboard side legs will be short and possibly not making proper contact into the breadboard

if not soldered then they may not be making proper contact with the teensy either and as the input is programmed with an internal pull up it would always read high
