How to detonate a rocket motor?

Dear: Element 14

Hello it is me Noah again and this question has recently got to my attention that my designs might be all wrong. See I am trying to build a rocket controller but in order for a rocket controller to full fill its purpose it needs to start a rocket motor. Can anybody help because right now I am using a 9 Volt voltage regulator to detonate the rocket motor so does anybody know how to answer my question.

    Hi Noah,

Here is a launch controller, and has lots of advice and circuits on the website. Maybe bits of it may be helpful. Notice he's got very fat tracks on the circuit board near his relay (he went for a relay approach). Your design will need fat traces too. Also, you'll need to do some experimentation no matter what method you pursue. On that website, the author used light-bulbs to test with.

    Dear: Element 14

It turns out you can't use too much electricity in a rocket ignition system but you can use too little. That is why my design will use a L7805 regulator to power the ignition system. So thank you all for helping especially shabaz for his link said so.

Back in the seventies, the Czechs were just monsters of model rocketry.  Their boost-gliders still thrill the imagination.  They had a journal, the name of which I forget.  They had this one uber-cool photo:  It was a long-exposure of a rocket taking off at twilight.  The payload capsule was clear and contained an early led (IIRC, could have been a CFL, FIK) blinking away powered by an (fixed fq) oscillator circuit.  The circuit that fired the rocket started the circuit, and also a pan motor on the camera, which was reasonably distant from the launch pad.

The resulting outline was a dotted image of the parabola half one would expect, so, so cool!
