using arduino for keyboard command

Question

hey guys..im new to arduino and i want to use arduino button as a certain keys on the computer

im writing a program in python and by a button of arduino i want to control the video playing..like pressing E on the keyboard would be stop and a switch in arduino would represent the E button

what kind of arduino would be the best for this?

any help and information would be much appreciated.

No idea about promicro I do know that Digispark does the keyboard emulation thing, and has been used for various tasks ...some not so nice and others bypassing things. check here. digispark:tutorials:digikeyboard [Digistump Wiki] mark

Hello friend, the arduino pro micro would be just fine for what you are trying to do. Write the program in c (not python) with the arduino sdk and upload it through usb.

What you are looking for is this: Arduino - KeyboardWrite , it will send commands back to the computer as if it were a keyboard, just assign physical buttons to the commands and you are ready.
