Game show buzzer system (12 buzzers)

Quiz show buzzer project ( 12 buzzers)

I'm looking for help with a project i would like to start.

I would like to make a 12 piece buzzer system that locks out the other contestants until being reset, and it also displays who has buzzed in with leds.

There are two teams so there will have to be two different noises. I need the sound to be outputted by a female 3.5 mm jack.

I am new to Arduino and would like some help so i can learn to use Arduino

Also I would like to know what sort of things i will need to make this project (as if i don't have anything)

i know that online there are many different things like these but they don't really go into detail and so i s difficult  to follow them.

    Well firstly

    An Arduino, UNO should do\

A breadboard to use for LEDS and resistors

A bunch of LEDs (12, one for each player) or 2 one for each team, any color of your preference will do

A bunch of resistors of about 470R to limit the current to the LEDS

If you are ok with running wires to each contestant then a bunch of switches and wire (Phone wire should do as it is in expensive)

A small pizo buzzer or amplified speaker

Do you need to know who pressed the button, if so then a Arduino MEGA may be a better choice (More IO)

Look up Blink project for Arduino

Driving 7 segment LED displays if you want to show the player number

Sound output on an Arduino (or AKA the tone function)

    Using the Digital.Read function

Once you have read and tried each of these projects then your ready for the project

At that point if your not ready to go we can help you understand any of the above projects your having difficulty with

Then you should be ready to apply all you have learned to combine into your project

    I hope this helps

    Peter
