I need help to learn how to do a number keypad to LED display

Hi guys this is my first attempt at making Arduino electronics. I'm a newbie, and I would be very grateful if you guys can explain the jargons clearly.

Ok here goes:

Arduino Leonardo an Keypad 3x4 + 7-Segment: http://youtu.be/mfI_BcV8gP4

I need to learn how to do exactly that in the link, but unfornately the youtuber doesnt speak english...

Also as an added bonus, could anyone tell me how to do multiplexing with 2 individual LED 7 segment display? Because my project would be more better with a 200mm led display instead of a tiny 20mm display...

unfortunately I can't watch the video (keep getting a 502 error). But here are some articles which may help you get started with your project: Keypad - Arduino Playground - Keypad Library 7-Segment Display…

you should be able to find everthing you need here http://tronixstuff.com/ and here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA567CE235D39FA84 But basically you wire the keypad to the digital pins on the arduino and then in the software assign the input of each button to a value ie button1 value is 1 and then map which leds on the display need to be on for each number. As for multiplexing the 595 shift register IC is a good place to start they are cheap and easy to wire up and there is a ton of info about them. Depending on what your project is you probably wont need a Leonardo and if a UNO does not have enough pins or power a mega 2560 is a cheap step up. Hope that helps Mick
