RF Module Advice

Hello

I am looking to make a simple radio-pager system to enable somebody to alert other members of their team should they need assistance.

Simply put, when a button on a pager is pressed it vibrates all of the connected pagers and displays a name on the LCD.

I am looking to use an Arduino (ATMega328) bare bones, and have been considering the following modules:

http://uk.farnell.com/aurel/rtx-mid-5v/rf-mod-txrx-ask-5v-433-92mhz/dp/1699469

RTX MID 5V - AUREL - RF MOD, TXRX, ASK, 5V, 433.92MHZ | Farnell element14 UK (as previously mentioned by amgalbu)

SMARTALPHA 433MHz Wireless Transceiver Radio Modem

Would either/both of those be suitable, or would you suggest something more applicable.

Thanks

Paul

    Hi Paul,

I think it should be possible, I notice someone's code uses it here: http://ie.archive.ubuntu.com/disk1/disk1/download.sourceforge.net/pub/sourceforge/s/sm/smjremote/sc2262v11_ino.ino

There is a wireless library for arduino called Radiohead (see here RadioHead: RadioHead Packet Radio library for embedded microprocessors ) that may be an option (near-essential to use this

library for the cheaper RF modules, you might be fine with the ones you have specified however).

I've not used these modules nor the Radiohead library, but it looks like there is plenty of information around for the latter.

There are more advanced modules (such as any boards with TI's CC110L) but they don't have a simple 'data' pin that is toggled; instead, they have an instruction set and commands need to

    be fed into it.
