Arduino Uno LCD

I'm building a serial display LCD project on my Arduino (using the serial monitor to write and send text) after connecting everything, it still wont work. The LCD with light but nothing will come up on it if I type something in the Serial Monitor. Does anyone know what is wrong?

We might be able to help more if you included your code, a diagram of some sort showing how it is hooked up, and perhaps the model number of the LCD. As it stands right now, there is not enough information…

Sometimes all it takes is the right contrast adjustment. Some LCDs have a pot for this function. Look up the specs for your LCD and how to adjust the contrast or bias voltage.
