arduino wifi shield webserver

Ethernet shield code is easy and works well, but wifi shield code doesn't. I tried to translate Ethernet shield code into wifi shield code by trying to find methods in wifi that might correspond to methods in Ethernet shield code, but nothing works. Does anybody have any code for web sever using the wifi shield?

I have arduino wifi shield, which I use with arduino uno R3I've tried the wifi web server example programs in the wifi library. I seem to be able to connect to my network, but when I point my browser to the dhcp ip address, the wifi server won't respond.I also have the arduino Ethernet shield which works fine. I reconfigured an Ethernet web server sketch to work with wifi shield. I have attached that .ino file. Perhaps if you look at it, you can tell me where i'm going wrong. I thank you in advance for you assistance

    Hi Bernard

You appear to be saying that you can't get the Web Server examples provided with the WiFi library to work - couldn't connect to the DHCP supplied IP address. If that is the case, it seems a little premature to be trying to get something more complex to work. I would be inclined to concentrate on getting the SimpleWebServerWiFi example from the WiFi library to work first.

Do you, for example, get a message to the serial monitor saying "new client". If so, I would suggest adding some more  print statements to the existing code so that you can hopefully see what's happening. You browser my be connecting as a client, but something else may be going wrong before the Web Server completes its response to your browser. Incidentally, have you tried using both Chrome and Internet Explorer - I found they behaved differently with an Arduino Web Server on the ordinary ethernet shield.

I've just spotted this - have you read it? Is it relevant to your situation? There is a lot about it if you Google WiFi shield problems

The firmware for the WiFi shield has changed in Arduino IDE 1.0.5. You are recommended to install this update per these instructions

Hi I get and ip address from dhcp. I have tried to ping the address and the ping is successful, but I can't reach the address in internet explorer or chrome. the wifi shield is on my network but it does not respond.
