How do I control AC single phase 1/2hp @230v induction motor with arduino? Microcontroller should turn ON motor when water in a tank reaches below certain level and it should turn OFF motor when water in tank reaches above certain level.

  1. How to interface AC single phase as well as three phase induction motor with arduino or any other Microcontroller?

Use a small pilot relay driven by the Arduino to drive the coil of a bigger relay or contactor that feeds the power to the pump. Either relay is likely to be an industrial rated component. Some type…

A simple and safe way is to buy a wireless remote switch and connect your microcontroller to the wireless remote controller.

However a simple float switch at the each level could do the same job with no microcontroller. Ensure no electrics are in the water (the float needs to push a rod that activates a switch that is not near the water)
