Hello everyone, I'm trying to make a small dvd-based cnc machine that contains two small stepper motors, but in each video on youtube the height between x and y is not specified, here are the links some video to understand if someone has an idea I ask him to answer me and help me ""https://youtu.be/CmDMgwrPLKY""https://youtu.be/">youtu.be/.../ KsZn5lQo1DY""">https://youtu.be/qMWEW3rzd2Q"

that height does not matter, its up to you to decide and set it in your FW. when you build your own machine all measurements can be set by you and you have to accountfor the min the firmware anyway.

FW= Firmware, the piece of software you write that drives the machine.
you can either write it fro mscratch or use something like GRBL or Marlin to run your machine depending on the Hardware you are using.
if you buiild everything from scratch all the choices are up to you.
Here is a blog series I did that explains the major steps of building cnc machines.
