    Hi,

Several input methods can be created using an Arduino for a base.  If you check out Element 14, as well as a bunch of other suppliers, there are several, small, single board modules that provide button array or micro joystick, and if you want to get into some real nifty stuff, there is a 3-axis gyro/accellerometer, so you can make a "wii like" game controller for things like tennis, cricket, and curling.
