SD card IO errors

I have started to get massive amounts of IO errors on the SD card and generally erratic behavior.

I've resorted to clearing the partition table and rebuilding it. That was also erratic. Formatting throws a bunch of errors as well.

At this point, I have a wiped SD card. I did copy the files in the first partition to a backup usb disk (that has zero issues).

Is there supposed to be more than one partition on the SD Card? fdisk thought that there were four.

I'd like to get back to a clean setup. Hopefully the backup I have of the file from the one partition are valid...

Is there a description of the SD configuration (image?) somewhere?

The original CF that comes with the zedboard contains a single fat32 partition and if you have back-upped the files is sufficient that you reformat the whole CF in fat32, copy the 5 files and you're done!

8GB "30MB/s" card and everything is working okay for the moment.

We have a few zedboards here and none of the SD cards are working properly... Seems to be some cheap memory...
Even after wiping the SD card and copying the xillinux image onto it the I/O errors continued.
I also use Sandisk, 8 GB 30MB/s, and there are no I/O errors.
