Linux & VHDL Code?

Hello, I'm new in here.
In PlanAhead I wrote a code in VHDL to light up some LEDs. I set the jumpers to gnd and programmed the fpga and it worked. So far so good.
Now I want to get this code running while linux is running on the processor.
Is it possible? How do I have to set the jumpers?
In the reference designs (http://zedboard.org/design) there is only C used, but as I don't know how to programm in this language, I hope there is a way to do it with VHDL.
My final aim is to communicate with the board via ethernet to set the LEDs, but I don't know how to get this working.
I would be very happy if someone could help me to understand what I have to do!

    There is an App note on the Xilinx site for adding your own IP to the system builder. I expect this is what you are looking for. You create a sub-module for your LED blinker, then add that to the system with XPS, connect assign the pins as GPIOs on the ARM side to your IP module, and then you should be able to toggle those bits using standard Linux tools.

    Once I get up I've got a similar requirement (except that in my case its PWM modules) which I will post here.
