Is there a way to do a reset to factory default on the zedboard?

 

Background:  When i turn my zedboard on it tries to boot linux from the SD card.  I get the error "Error lock down A301"  (I'm connected to port 5 on the SDK terminal.)  I removed SD card and replaced with SD card that doesn't contain the Boot.bin file.  Zedboard connects with vivado and SDK.  I can program the FPGA.

But.. when I try to run an application using the SDK there is no print out to the SDK terminal from the C code that I am using.

 

The exact same code and bit file work fine on a second zedboard.

    Hello Cgonzales,

    That error you are getting is most likely from a corruped boot image file. However it does seem strange that your other zedboard works with the same SD card. As for when you replace it with an SD card with no boot.bin file, that is to be expected since the boot.bin file contains the project description.

    I would like you to try downloading the pre-built petalinux image from Xilinx and then botting it from SD card. Here is where you can find it:

    download the ZED BSP.

    Here are the steps to get it loaded onto your zedboard. 

    1. Extract the files twice to where you have a folder labeled "Avnet-Digilent-ZedBoard-2016.3" (I use 7-Zip).

    2. Go to "Avnet-Digilent-ZedBoard-2016.3\pre-built\linux\images" within that folder to access the SD card images

    3. Copy them all over to your SD Card and eject SD Card.

    4. Place SD Card in J12 SD card connector on your Zedboard.

    5. Make sure J7-J11 are in SD Boot

    6. Turn power on and monitor Linux via a Terminal program through the UART connector
