Petalinux interface with Custom IP

I am quite new in this,,in Petalinux I would like to control a custom IP (device) via using the the memory space dev/mem to send or receive a value of 32 bit

I have seen some examples but I have a bit struggle in understanding the following values in the examples , and how to identify them

    Oggo,

    To work with linux drivers, you will need to have a good understanding of the difference between kernel space and user space.  Application programs run in virtual memory, which is a mechanism designed to make applications think they have access to the entire physical memory when really they are separated from each other by the operating system.  This prevents programs from interacting with each other.  In kernel space, there are no such safeguards, so you need to understand how the memory controller works and how memory is mapped at a more fundamental level, and all of the terms you list apply here.

    If you truly want to understand this area, I'd recommend that you locate some reference material on the Linux kernel, and read through the relevent chapters.  For example, there is a series of text from O'Reilly that does an excellent job of describing kernel operations.  You might want to start with "Understanding the Linux Kernel".  There are also innumerable online references to the terms you ask about, but it is often difficult to put the information in context without a suitable grounding the in the material.

    It's a very interesting area for developers, and I wish you well in your studies.
