Pseudo logic analyzer

Hello, I need a little bit of help figuring out if what I have in mind is feasible...

I am still fairly new to the world of FPGAs, but I have done microcontroller and embedded system programming before. What I would like to do now is have a little stand alone device that could monitor various buses and gather data when turned on. Essentially, I'd like to build something similar to a logic analyzer but with over 30 channels that operates at 100 MHz or more and that can be customized to store data seen on the inputs when certain conditions are met. I could then be able to retrieve this data at a later time (via ethernet probably) while the device is still capturing or after it's been stopped, whichever...

I don't know if I explained this right but in any case, I was looking at the MicroZed and it looks like the perfect board for it, but due to my limited knowledge, I am unable to confirm that it is indeed possible.

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you both for the input.

    I had visited the Red Pitaya page before, looks like it'll be a very good option too. I noticed that the MicroZed is either on back order or not available in North America, so I have also been contemplating other less complex options in the mean time, such as the Papilio Pro.

    The MicroZed might be overkill for what I had in mind, since I can use just a FTDI chip to send my data anyway...I still haven't decided yet, but I'll probably end up buying a MicroZed at least just to play with it.
