Embedded Linux on Zynq - Lab3_1 problem

Hi

I am practicing "Implementing Linux on Zedboard" and I just reached at the point that the Linux has booted in Zynq. So I want to use gpio regarding to the Lab3_1, but, there is a problem. The lab instruction mentioned that there is gpio driver in /sys/class/gpio. Unfortunately, /sys directory is empty in embedded Linux that I implemented.

I know that I did every steps of the instructions and I was very careful about it. So, if anyone had the same problem or anybody that could help me regarding to this problem, I really appreciate it.

    Hi Toofan,

    Which release tag are you using for your Linux kernel?

    Are you using the xilinx-14.2-build1-trd as recommended in the SpeedWay instructions?  Also are you using the "xilinx_zynq_defconfig" for the Linux kernel?

    One other thing is to check your devicetree and verify that there is a definition for the gpio device and driver:

    gpio@e000a000 {
       compatible = "xlnx,ps7-gpio-1.00.a";
       reg = <0xe000a000 0x1000>;
       interrupts = <0 20 0>;
       interrupt-parent = <&gic>;
    };
