Getting Started Guide, Windows requirement?

I took a quick look at the Getting Started Guide document. 

Page 11 says "The host PC must run Windows (XP/Vista/7)".  If that is truly the case then I won't be purchasing the zedboard.  I am pretty sure that the zedboard should run with a linux host PC, please let me know about this.

Perhaps the guide could be changed to say something like "the following instructions apply for a host PC that runs Windows (XP/Vista/7).  Instructions for operating the zedboard with a linux host PC can be accessed here <zedboard linux host PC web page>.

    The User Guide is just describing the configuration that is known to work with the Zedboard.  Since the Cypress device on the board enumerates as a COM device when plugged in, the drivers should load without a problem under Linux.

    As for the terminal program, rather than TeraTerm you can use minicom (or any other terminal software that you prefer) to get the same result.

    You can run this command:

    $ dmesg | grep tty

    after you pug in the USB cable that is plugged into the UART USB port on the Zedboard to display the stty device it was mapped to.

    The command would then be:

    $ minicom -s

    Then you want to set up your configuration to the correct serial port, for me it was /dev/ttyS2.  And the remaining settings are 115200 8N1. (that is a speed of 115200 bps, 8 data bits, no flow control, and 1 stop bit).
