Boot Linux from QSPI on microzed 7010

Hi,

Is it possible to have a Boot image of type(*.mcs) with SSBL files for Linux ? Or is this an issue with the size of the QSPI on the board ? I see the Linux SD image is available for download but not a QSPI version and I would like to have the board boot up linux from the QSPI device.

Thank you.

Our factory default image is PetaLinux, and it does fit in QSPI. You should be able to take the PetaLinux BSP for MicroZed and target it for the QSPI.

    Sorry Bryan,
I'm more of a hardware guy so please bear with me. My understanding is a that a BSP is the board support package which gives you all the drivers to develop applications on a particular board. I'm not sure how this ties in with what I'm trying to do ?

So far by using Xilinx SDK I have been able to create a boot image partitioned with an FSBL.elf , the PL bit file and my application software .elf file. With this image I programmed the QSPI on the board. It powers up and boots standalone and all runs fine.
Now I would like to add a Linux 2nd stage boot loader, Kernel, Device Tree and Ramdisk file to the boot image partition and program the QSPI.  So far I have seen these files are available for download to create an image for programming an SD card but not for a QSPI device.

Are you saying these files are available for a PetaLinux version ?  I followed the link you gave me but it was very unclear to me.

    Joseph
