Zedboard Newbie

Dear Sir:

     I am new to the Zedboard system.  I just purchased a Zynq-7000 EPP 7Z020 Zedboard kit, downloaded the ZynqSW_Online_v03 and began to do the labs.

     When I got to lab 5 and I began to do the memory test, I discovered that my program "hangs" when I get to the 8 bit test.

     This is what I see:

NOTE: This application runs with D-Cache disabled.As a result, cacheline requests will not be generated
Testing memory region: ps7_ddr_0
    Memory Controller: ps7_ddr
         Base Address: 0x00100000
                 Size: 0x1ff00000 bytes
          32-bit test: PASSED!
          16-bit test: PASSED!
           8-bit test:

      Lab 4, Experiment 3, steps 5 and 6, mention the 8 bit test but do not go into detail about any changes which need to be made in the program setup. 

      Can someone please provide me with a remedy for this issue?

    Dear Sir:

         I own the 2013 software package and I cannot upgrade to the Vivado 2014 software.   The Speedway labs use Xilinx SDK primarily - not necessarily Vivado software (although some Vivado software may be included in the Xilinx SDK software package and the Speedway labs).

    I would like to thank you for your reply but I cannot pursue this potential remedy.  

    It is my belief that this problem may have been a common problem (I have not deviated from the lab instructions, at least, to my knowledge) and someone has already found a remedy.

    Again, to restate the problem:

    Lab 5, the memory test, appears to "hang" (never stops processing).

    I can only hope that someone else had experienced this same problem and found a remedy.
