paid pre-sales tech support

Hello when I called avnet to order a board, I found it hilarious (in a sad way) that they had no pre-sales tech support to verify some very basic items, like compatibility between pieces you are purchasing, and wait times for products.

I understand the "lean and mean" mentality and having no tech folks or pre-sales people. However, I'm assuming there is SOME person I can pay for pre-sales recommendations right? That I'm not just stuck in this forum for everything I need?

I ask because clearly a team of talented tech folks did a lot of hardware design, youtube videos, manuals, etc. And it would be weird for their customers to have this forum as the only tool.

Our primary pre-sales tech support are our local Field Applications Engineers around the world. At last count, I think we had ~200 of them focused on Xilinx products.
However, for those of you who don't utilize a local Avnet office, then a call the general-purpose Avnet telephone number is going to put you in touch with a sales person. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that is going to change any time in the near future. You would get better luck by calling your local Avnet office, which you can find at www.avnet.com --> Contact Us.
