Hello,
I'm a DSP(i.e. TI) and FPGA(Altera and Xilinx)
embedded systems developer and I'm familiar with and have a good working knowledge of small footprint and low latency embedded operating systems such as TI's DSP BIOS. However, I've never worked directly with the biggies such as VxWorks, GreenHills or Linux even though I've written and am currently writting applications that run on top of Linux.
I'd like to purchase the ZED board so I can start learning and getting up to speed on the new SoC devices. This also includes getting up to speed on the tools needed to create projects on this board as well as learning how to work with Linux. To this end I have the following question for the community:
What recommendations can you folks make as far as reading material(i.e. books, tutorials, notes etc...) that can help me learn and get up to speed on embedded Linux so that I'll have the necessary knowledge and capability to run this OS on the board? Most of the books and materials I've come across already assume a decent working knowledge of this OS so the reading is often times difficult, scattered and frustrating for a beginner. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Len
