You can download the Out of Box (OOB) SD card image and source here:

    http://www.digilentinc.com/Data/Products/ZEDBOARD/ZedBoard_OOB_Design.zip

Documentation on how to obtain and build the Linux Kernel along with the hardware project and boot files is provided. However, this was done by Digilent using the ISE tools with an older version of Linux.

If you want to generate a Vivado based design that runs Linux you might start with the Silica Yocto community project:

    http://zedboard.org/content/silica-architech-yocto-linux-zedboard-community-project-0

or the Avnet PetaLinux for the ZynqRegistered-7000 All Programmable SoC PetaLinux Speedway workshop.

There is also a Vivado based Ubuntu Desktop Linux for Zedboard tutorial available here:

    http://microzed.org/support/design/1521/11
